CHARLOTTE LOVES x CROSSLOW

Ever since I was a little girl, all I wanted was to play dress-up. Joyful colours fascinated me, inspired me, fired my imagination and made me feel like anything was possible.  Colours gave me confidence and I now use that passion to bring joy to others and to make a real difference to people through my brand CHARLOTTE LOVES – with my styling work, TV presenting, fashion lecturing, speaking gigs, impact coaching and blogging.  It’s been a lifelong dream to design my own colourful accessories and I’m delighted to collab with local, female entrepreneurs, Lara & Theresa, from CROSSLOW.  We are thrilled to announce the online launch of these exquisite statement earrings on sale now. The earrings are...

Staycation style

I'll take the stress out of staycation style through this ultimate 30-piece capsule wardrobe guide for your UK holiday.  The backbone of clever packing starts by selecting light layers in classic neutrals, with added pops of colour for interest.  Filter in some high fashion pieces, yet mainly build your holiday capsule wardrobe around practical pieces which enable you to mix and match for cost efficient outfits in fluctuating temperatures. I’m thinking light denim, comfy linen trousers, structured shorts, pretty (block coloured) t-shirts for multi-use, featherweight non-crease skirts and dresses, snug sweaters, statement shades and wide brimmed hats.  All finished off with sensible yet stylish footwear. Always accessorize with supersized rattan bags (maybe one practical rucksack too), headbands and scarves for added...

Virtual styling

Just because we are staying at home, it doesn’t mean style, (or shopping for that matter!), has to put on the back burner.  Making time for a therapeutic wardrobe edit & declutter can pave the way for clever, insightful, well considered virtual styling; 're-styling' through 'e-styling'. It may be more ‘back to basics’ through buying wardrobe staples, or ‘functionality’ with a boost in athleisure, plain ‘comfort’ for Netflix binges or maybe an ‘amplification’ through mood lifting colours for those ‘work zooms’ or family ‘houseparties’. My e-styling services include virtual outfit mood boards with direct shopping links based on your colouring, body shape and lifestyle needs. All budgets are catered for; from high street to high end.  Easy to follow...

ELYS shopping edit

There is something very alluring to me when a shopping destination becomes a home from home.  That’s how I feel about Elys of Wimbledon. A second home. A happy place.  A shopping mecca of choice for not only myself and for many of my personal styling clients, but also my husband, our two little girls and their Grandma when she comes to stay.  You’d think it quite impossible to design a local department store that appeals to mums, dads, husbands and wives, little children, teenagers AND OAPs, but somehow, just somehow, Elys have accomplished this where others have not.  We have everything we need under one roof; fashion, beauty, home, men’s, kids, food and excellent coffee!  We...

It’s Who I Am

I was bullied at school for looking different. Freckle face and chicken legs. Being bullied for the way you look has infinite legacies and the strain of not letting the past define your ‘now’ requires transformative thinking strategies. I’ve struggled between yearning to be the same as others, yet on the other hand have always craved unique self-expression. And now? Age 42, I think looking good enough, is good enough. It's Who I Am.  Although I don’t think I will ever 100% know myself, I do accept myself. I release myself from expectations, I don’t fear judgement from others and I transfer any jealousy of others to celebration of their success. Because the truth is; someone else’s...

How to wear pink & patterns

Pink reminds me of carefree days, of twirling in tutus and brushing past foxgloves in my mothers garden.  It's the essence of my youth; not aggressive like red, just girlie and bright.  As you say pink out loud it softens my soul, a feminine species all on its own.  Sweet bakery, glazed donuts, mouthwatering delights.  It's dewy not abrasive, like warm cotton candy.  I remember my first taste of pink bubblegum and my party balloons, yet above all this, it evokes the feeling of love.   To toughen up pink, pair it with pattern, like snake print or polka dot to give it an edge.  How to wear pink & pattern?  My ideas below. Join CHARLOTTE LOVES here, and...
