It’s all about the maxi dress this season, such a major trend to pin your sartorial hopes on, especially if you need to channel easy-chic…when you want to look like you’ve tried hard, without trying hard, at all, and I’m genuinely NOT joking.  It’s the ultimate stylist tip, the mega maxi dress, but the trick is in the shape and colour you choose, yet it’s not always as easy as it seems.

It’s one of the greatest debates and I frequently find myself squashing objections. Some think it’s not for the ‘petite’, too overdressed for the office and certainly a no-no for weekend wear.  BUT the maxi can be ALL of these things to you, and more – it’s an extreme multi-tasker.  I say the maxi is the definitive mark of our sartorial day.  For summer pair with wedges and feathers in your hair, however Autumn/Winter calls for leather or denim jackets, t-bar flats or white flatforms.

If you’re pear shaped, hourglass or rectangular best to opt for v neck with ruffles and a cinched in waist, a decent ankle length finish, as well as elbow or wrist length sleeves. Clear brights for soft yellow skin tones, muted, earthy shades for darker olive skins and select blue tinted/icy shades if you have rosy skin tones.  I’ve hand selected my favourite mega maxi’s, so look no further.
