Is this your style life? You struggle to find the time to shop, are unsure what colours suit you best, don’t know which brands would flatter your body shape and always panic buy or end up frustrated, then personal shopping could be the answer you’re looking for. But what is ACTUALLY involved and what can you expect to experience and discover when out shopping? This is my client Karina and this is her transformational style story. As a full time working mum approaching 40, Karina felt her current style was full of neutrals and darker colours. With no time to search online or get to the shops as well as being worried about the aging process Karina was looking for a combined styling and personal shopping service to help her understand her most flattering colours to make her appear younger and healthier and advice on what styles would suit her shape. She also wanted to stand out from the crowd and try new pieces and combinations she’d never contemplated before.

I identified her best colours as warm Spring brights and her shape as an hourglass, we set the budget and booked into Harvey Nichols Private Shopping where I am a member of the VIP Stylist Club. Harvey Nichols cleverly stocks high street to high end brands so there is a choice for most budgets.
We discussed all her objectives:
- Updating her work wardrobe with new colours and to help define and build her corporate image. Move away from black, grey and beige most importantly.
- Discovering new power outfits and how to wear pattern effectively.
- Introducing dresses and jumpsuits rather than relying on separates all the time
- Buying useful pieces that could be worn at work but also to spice up weekend outfits
- Finding new jeans to flatter her hourglass shape.
We shopped together for an hour, however many clients prefer for me to preselect items before they arrive to make the most of their valuable time. We then tried all the entire selection with different combinations for 2 hours in the private suite (helped along by coffee, champagne and biscuits) to create Karina’s new style ‘lookbook’.
Here are Karina’s style make over ‘after shots’. All items are current season with links to the relevant pieces below.
