A dream come true! To design my own beautiful range of shoes with a sustainable and ethical ethos: ‘Shoes with a Conscience’.  I’ve been working with my fellow, local business owner Lizzie at Made the Edit to design the ‘Charlotte Bow’ Kitten heel sliders, which have a ‘No Waste’ ethos as they are Made to Order. Our aim is to help change the world ‘one shoe at a time’.  Less fast fashion, more sustainable choice.  Our sustainable shoes are super comfy, easy to walk in,  designed with a range of useful colours to make maximum impact. Here are the details on our sustainable shoe launch:

The ‘Charlotte Bow’ kitten heels come in 4 colour-ways: Rose, Gold, Silver & Lilac. £195.

Order by 30th April for delivery mid-June 2021.  (They are true to size).  Something for all style personalities, a true classic with a twist.

Which is your favourite?

 

My aim was to design sustainable shoes that are:

1. Pretty, feminine, yet totally wearable
2. Work across multiple looks
3. Are a twist on a trend, but have timeless appeal
4. Have a sustainable and ethical ethos

This shoe collaboration represents a fusion of our love for fashion, but also our desire to help slow climate change, by inspiring people to make better, more sustainable decisions.

To make a stand against over production, Lizzie & I will ensure these shoes are produced as:

• Limited editions, small quantities.
• Using an ethical supply chain in Italy; artisan workshops with fair salaries.
• No sweatshops.
• High quality, durable leather & suede, to ensure they last.

The colours are designed to appeal to many style personalities, I wanted something for everyone.  A classic style, with a twist!

Here is our design story: 

December: samples arrived in pink and black.

March 16th: Design session using the samples and trend inspiration for 2021. Finalised the upper leather and suede colour-ways in rosa suede, lilac suede, gold metallic glitter, silver metallic glitter. Agreed satin bow colours.

April 9th: Approval of sketches in our new colour-ways

April 16th: Shoe LAUNCH!
