Wimbledon hair

Hello my Wimbledon hair.  If I could sum up our relationship, I’d say it’s been tumultuous.  The ups and downs more perilous than a rollercoaster.  Good days, bad days, tears and laughter, you’ve been with me through thick and thin.  What stories you could tell, from creeping toddler curls to concealing teenage angst.  You’ve mopped up tears and been torn apart.  Sometimes I didn’t know who you were, why would you behave that way; the frizz, the kinks, the split ends…and now?  Hair, they say, is 90% of the selfie, so only the best will do.  But where in Wimbledon I hear you ask, well question no more, as our latest arrival is Robert Kirby. YEYS! A...

A starry starry night

The runways for AW 18 were scattered with celestial references, full of allure, sparkle and attraction.  The star, a lucky symbol for some, is the magical masterpiece of the latest Stella jewellery range from CARAT*.  Interlaced with sterling silver and white gold, these star jewellery pieces are designed to reflect the ancient idea of wishing upon a star and have been developed as dreamy keepsakes to pass down through generations.  They are THE gift to buy for Christmas this year. Each piece is exquisite and totally versatile.  The Astrid bracelet, £129, Cosmo necklace, £159, and Nova drop earrings £109, are full of charm and an effortless elegance when worn together, particularly when paired with the Baby Noa stacking ring collection,...

Best Buys Blanket Cape

Ihave a little secret to share.  My absolute must-have this Winter is the blanket cape.  You can forget about stuffing arms into tight jackets, overheating, creasing your silk blouse or ruining the all important aesthetics of your outfit.  The layering of each piece, the mix of textures and colours, as well allowing each item to show off and have a moment to shine is crucial.  It’s artistic, in fact, the outfit itself becomes a piece of art…actually let’s be brutal, fashion IS art.  The blanket cape is the ultimate ‘frame’ to your artwork.  I’ve selected my favourite blanket capes for you…so it’s time to sell on last year’s coats, make room in your wardrobe and get shopping....

My style guide The Maxi Dress

It’s all about the maxi dress this season, such a major trend to pin your sartorial hopes on, especially if you need to channel easy-chic…when you want to look like you’ve tried hard, without trying hard, at all, and I’m genuinely NOT joking.  It’s the ultimate stylist tip, the mega maxi dress, but the trick is in the shape and colour you choose, yet it’s not always as easy as it seems. It’s one of the greatest debates and I frequently find myself squashing objections. Some think it’s not for the ‘petite’, too overdressed for the office and certainly a no-no for weekend wear.  BUT the maxi can be ALL of these things to you, and more – it’s an extreme...

My wonder weapons

They say that having the appearance of an even skin tone is key in female attraction.  As a personal stylist, I believe the easiest way to create a youthful glow is by wearing the right colours to harmonise with your skin tone, dragging it out of the dark and into luminous life!! Many of us don’t understand which colours and what type of hues suit our skin tone so stay safe and chain ourselves to neutral options such as black, grey, beige, navy and white. Ladies, (and gentlemen) you may like black and grey, but a lot of the time they don't like you. It’s vital to choose colours that bring a tint to your cheeks, reduce the appearance...

My mini-break wardrobe essentials

Ialways say it’s best to make the most of yourself every day. But so many of us find excuses to just ‘throw on yesterdays outfit’ or cry in despair “I have a wardrobe full of clothes but never ever anything to wear”, and peel on the same old grey top.  Taking care of yourself, making the best of your body and increasing confidence through style can do wonders (yes, wonders) for your relationship.   If you’re embarking on an adults only mini-break, as we did last week, renewing your wardrobe with flattering colours and styles can truly create an inner glow and positive energy flow…top up your attraction levels, layer in some fun…expressing yourself through colour and style can...

Will you bare your bralette?

bralette style
Does underwear as outerwear make you run for the hills? Will you bare your bralette or keep it slightly more under wraps, a few lace edges peeping out to show off your feminine side? (remembering to steer clear of the peep show look of course…) It could be seen as a trend for the brave – wearing them on top of T’s or on their own (a la Kendall and Cara) , but my tip for feminine appeal without salacious overload is to layer under a lace top, blazer or shirt.  It softens and updates the popular androgynous boyfriend jean/masculine shirt look too. If you need extra support, like me wink wink, my reco is to layer the bralette...
